Any of you lot been reading the Max Wolfe novels? If so what are your views?

I'm finding them very enjoyable, his (parsons) knowledge of London is very impressive.

They”re a decent yarn. Tough guy single parent cop living in a loft in Farringdon, but with slightly RWHFAG politicial views. Don’t know about the London knowledge though, it’s a bit name checking landmarks for country folk. If he buys his morning macchiato in bar Italia it will be fucking cold by the time he gets to his desk at west end central nick where he works.

I like em Billy, not literary masterpieces but enjoyable reads if you like a good crime novel and not too politically correct!

Hope West Ham get a regular mench. Spurs and Arsenal feature quite a bit in the Thorne series.

Re: Tony Parsons.
I’ve seen him a couple of times recently on a Sunday morning in Hampstead coming back from a run.
That’s me running not him
He was walking a small dog and over dressed in the style of that other prissy bloke Martin Freeman.

If I see him this week I will pass on WHO’s good wishes

Re: Tony Parsons.
Seems like a good opportunity to mention again my own crime series, set in North London. The first book His First Lie is out now - you can actually get the ebook for 99p at the moment - and the second It Was Her is coming out in May.

Swiss.

Memories galore,i eas an avid NME/Melody Maker reader between 75/98ish. Burchill could be a nasty bitch at times, very entrrtaining though.

NME and Julie Burchill. Man that brings back memories.

Wrote a lot of bollocks didn't he?

Re: Tony Parsons.
WP.

Very diffrrent from his previous work, the current series is similar to Mark Billingham (excellent) DI Thorne series. Although Billinghams lead character is a far darker individual than Parsons main bloke.
